YEAR IN REVIEW - 2025
Mooers Free Library
Report to the Community 2025
OUR VISION: We envision a welcoming center, a hub where community members connect and learn.
OUR MISSION: To provide resources, services and programs to meet the public's informational, educational, cultural and entertainment needs to enhance individual and community life.
We are excited to receive the 2025 Velma K. Moore Award (one of 4 in the state) from the Library Trustees Association, a Section of New York Library Association, for exemplary service as members of the Board of Trustees of the Mooers Free Library.
Program Impact, Outreach Activities
  • 7,401    Patron visits, compared with 6,621 in 2024, 5,354 in 2023.

  • 42    Programs benefited 89 unique children age 0-5
  • 32    Programs benefited school-age children
  • 99    Programs benefited 108 unique seniors
  • 39        General-interest programs
  • 180    Children received meals through the Summer Food Program
  • 10     Programs at Mooers Senior Housing
  • 25    Non-library sponsored events
Facilities and Grounds
  • Accessible walking path on our grounds constructed
  • $29,160 NY State Grant approved for construction of pavilion in 2026
  • Pollinator garden/raised beds planned as part of our sustainability initiative
