The Mooers Free Library is seeking an energetic, community focused leader for the position of Library Director. The Library Director is the chief executive of the library, responsible for daily operations, implementing projects, developing procedures, enacting Board-approved policies, and providing the guiding direction and vision for the library’s future. Skills, & Abilities: • Demonstration of good oral and written communication. • Desire to learn and gain new skills with an interest in continual professional improvement. • Proficiency in technology hardware and software as well as web-based applications, including, but not limited to: PC, laptops, portable devices, Microsoft Office, Internet browsing/searching and social media platforms. • Commitment to community improvement and engagement through public library services.
Minimum Qualifications: • Demonstrated organizational or project management experience. • Experience working with community members and community organizations. • An Associate’s degree in an approved college or university or its equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with administration and management of staff in a library environment.
At this time, the position is part-time (25 hours per week), pays $11 per hour, with paid sick days and paid holidays. The Library Director reports to the Library Board of Trustees, is subject to a 6 month probationary period and annual review thereafter based on the expectations outlined in the Library Director Job Description.
